We are extending our AVRR team and looking for a counselor to help beneficiaries make an informed decision about voluntary return.
As part of IOM’s AVRR team, you will support beneficiaries who wish to return to their country of origin.
Project Associate – Counsellor Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) with a focus on Syrian nationals
Working area: Utrecht, Gelderland, Flevoland & Noord Holland

Your role includes:
- Counselling & decision-making
- Voluntary return assistance
- Reintegration support
- Support to vulnerable migrants
- Outreach & networking
We are looking for colleagues who:
- Have a genuine interest in migration issues.
- Are motivated to support beneficiaries facing difficult circumstances.
- Have strong coordination and communication skills.
- Are fluent in Arabic (preferably a Levantine/Syrian dialect) ,Dutch and English
- Driving license
- Are hands‑on, proactive and able to work under pressure.
- Based in our region and willing to travel to locations in Gelderland, Utrecht, Flevoland and Noord Holland (and Whitin the Netherlands when necessary)
