Since August, and after several months of COVID-19 related limitations, we again assisted several family reunifications, often supporting young children with their travel to the Netherlands.
Due to location-specific COVID-19 measures, the possibility to support families is assessed case-by-case. Where we can, we help facilitate their reunions. Before their travel, the traveling family members are medically checked on any COVID-19-like symptoms. Furthermore, the family members are provided with a hygiene kit, including mouth-nose masks, to help safeguard their health and safety during travel.
The pandemic will likely continue to pose challenges to our Family Reunification activities, but together with our colleagues in countries of departure we are well-positioned to deal with unforeseen circumstances.
