Our Annual Reception was a lively evening filled with meaningful exchanges and new connections. Our new Chief of Mission, Fabien Sambussy, attended for the first time in his new role.
Fabien Sambussy emphasized that migration enriches societies through innovation and cultural exchange while highlighting the importance of managing migration effectively to protect the vulnerable and harness its benefits for all. He shared insights from his extensive experience, noting that migration is a complex process influenced by various factors such as economic opportunities, political stability, and cultural ties.
He also highlighted the significant contributions of migrants in various fields, including technology, arts, and sciences, and the importance of projects like SAMEN and Moving the Middle in fostering cultural understanding and support.

Fabien also spoke about the need for comprehensive policies that address the root causes of migration, such as poverty, conflict, and climate change. He stressed the importance of international cooperation and partnerships in creating sustainable solutions that benefit both migrants and host communities.
